Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.

The Grave Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.

A senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Investigation

These allegations come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

List of Offences

Prosecutors said the forty-five charges include:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • One count of attempted penetrative assault.

Authorities have asked individuals with information to get in touch with the relevant police force.
