The Renowned Musician Calls On Public Help to Send Together for Palestine Track to UK Festive Top Spot.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to send a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The campaign aims to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to support Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I won't be completely let down if it doesn’t, Christmas singles are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's powerful central theme.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for a lot of people,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Featured Artists

The single was laid down after a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the performance was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The impressive roster of performers appearing on Lullaby encompasses a group of well-known figures from the music world. All were part of the September show, which successfully generated a considerable total for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a trio of talented individuals. The track features a mix of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the project have stated that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These proceeds will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a specific target,” a spokesperson said. “We aim for as much as possible. Of course, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to the people of Gaza.”

The situation in the region was described as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of property said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a couple of million doesn’t make that much difference. But I think the significant factor is primarily raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching this Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
